cybersecurity software
What security software is part of Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials includes the security software 'Webroot Business Endpoint Protection'.
What can Webroot be installed on?
Webroot can protect both Windows and Apple Computers.
Do i need it on my Mobile Phone?
No. Mobile Phones run different software to computers.
What does Webroot protect against?
Webroot protects against all manner of malware (short for malicious software), and covers everything from Viruses, Trojans, Rootkits, Ransomware, and more.
What additional features does Webroot offer?
Webroot is a complete cybersecurity suite, consisting of several 'shields' that protect multiple points of your computer including;
Real-time Shield (Detects, blocks and removes viruses, malware, and other malicious software)
Behavioral Shield (Identifies and blocks potentially undiscovered security threats based on behavioral statistics)
Web Threat Shield (Blocks access to malicious websites and content)
Phishing Shield (Protects against phishing attacks by identifying and blocking suspicious emails and websites)
Firewall Shield (Monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules)
Evasion Shield (Protects against file-based and fileless script attacks, blocking malicious JavaScript, VBScript, PowerShell, macros, and more)
USB Shield (Blocks malicious activity from removable media drives, including USB, CD/DVD, etc)
Does it automatically scan my device?
Yes. Our custom policy configures webroot to scan once a day.
Can I run a manual scan?
Yes. Open the webroot application and select -> run scan.
Can I scan individual files and folders?
Yes. Right-click any file or folder you wish to scan and select -> scan with webroot.
Does it block Ads & Popups?
Yes and No.
Popups that originate from a malicious program or webpage, will be blocked.
Popups that originate from legitimate software such as Google Chrome, will not be blocked.
Does it protect against Scams?
No. A scam is the method of misleading (tricking) a person or business into giving up access to their device and/or accounts (usually financial).
Scams are performed with the use of legitimate software, such as email, SMS, or chat applications like facebook messenger, snapchat, telegram, etc and the big one to watch out for - 'Remote Access Software'.
Remote access software allows two computers (or phone) to connect over the Internet, allowing one to control the other. This is standard software used in IT support, even LCC uses it daily to support our Customers. Unfortunately it's also extremely useful for scammers for gaining control over computer, data and accounts.
cybersecurity licensing
Can I add/remove computers as needed?
Yes, we manage your licensing and encourage you to update us when your security requirements change.
Any changes made to your security will be reflected on your next annual renewal invoice.

We automatically install Cyber Essentials on any new computers purchased through us.
